Last July, National Parents Organization agreed to serve as a founding member of “Two Homes: The International Platform on Shared Parenting.” This is an umbrella organization with representatives from fourteen countries in Europe and North America. Of these, National Parents Organization may be the only component group with a major grassroots presence. The other organizations consist primarily of child development experts, social scientists, psychologists and lawyers who wish to promote better lives for children through shared parenting after separation or divorce of the parents. Our Founder and Chairman of the Board, Ned Holstein, M.D., M.S., was asked to serve on the Scientific Committee of the new umbrella organization.

On 23rd October the European Parliament in Strasbourg hosted an important conference on parental separation and divorce in Europe “Facing the crisis of the family in the name of the children”.

Der Interessenverband Unterhalt und Familienrecht (ISUV) hat Band 7 seiner Schriftenreihe mit dem Titel „Vom starren Residenzmodell zum individuellen Wechselmodell“ herausgegeben. Der Verband möchte mit dieser 80 seitigen Schrift einen Impuls für gelebte gemeinsame Elternschaft nach Trennung und Scheidung geben. Das Kernanliegen des Verbandes ist es, den Kindern beide Elternteile nach Trennung und Scheidung zu erhalten, mehr Kindeswohl, mehr Gleichheit zwischen Vater und Mutter, Möglichkeit der Berufstätigkeit für beide Elternteile, gerechter Ausgleich der finanziellen Kosten.

Die Autoren der Broschüre sind Professor Dr. Hildegund Sünderhauf, Professor Siegfried Willutzki, OLG Richter Heinrich Schürmann, die Rechtsanwälte Georg Rixe und Ralph Gurk, Sabine Holdt/Marcus Schönherr sowie der ISUV Bundesvorsitzende Josef Linsler.

Les résultats de recherches récentes prouvent que la résidence alternée est dans le meilleur intérêt des enfants après une séparation ou un divorce de leurs parents. L’avantage principal de la coparentalité consiste dans le maintien des liens et de la vie de famille avec la mère aussi bien qu’avec le père. Au même titre, la résidence alternée contribue à concilier la vie familiale et la vie professionnelle et engendre des bénéfices pour la société.

Social scientists, mental health professionals and advocates for family law reform from 14 different countries have called for governments to actively promote shared parenting following divorce or separation. Read about it here (Two Homes.com, 8/13/13).

The International Platform on Shared Parenting met in Bonn, Germany last week to review the latest research on shared parenting and to urge governments to alter family laws and court practices accordingly. The National Parents Organization is proud to be a part of this excellent organization and for NPO’s Chairman of the Board, Ned Holstein to be a presenter at the conference.

14. August 2013 Väteraufbruch für Kinder e.V. ist Initiator der internationalen Projektgruppe „Paritätische Doppelresidenz". Am 10./11. August 2013 startete das Projekt mit einer Workshop-Konferenz in Bonn. Der Verband berufstätiger Mütter VBM e.V. brachte sich mit einem Vortrag zur „Work-Life-Balance and Shared Parenting" in die Konferenz ein.

Im Zuge der internationalen Kooperation und Vernetzung veranstaltet die vom Väteraufbruch für Kinder initiierte "Projektgruppe Paritätische Doppelresidenz" am 10. und 11. August 2013 einen Kick-off Workshop in Bonn. Unsere teilnehmenden Projekt- und Kooperationspartner sind Wissenschaftler und Vertreter von Interessenverbänden aus Europa und Amerika.

Der Kick-Off Workshop hat das Ziel, einen fachlichen Austausch und eine Kooperation auf internationaler Ebene anzustoßen.
